"Metamorphosis 1"/2003 Oil on canvas, 8'x12" Mark Campbell has been program director of Art With Elders at Laguna Honda Hospital for the past five years and is currently director of the Bay Area's Elder Arts Celebration. Primarily a figurative painter he uses natural wood grain and other "accidental " marks as departures for some of his imagery. Inspired by his experience working with the elderly he strives to use the familiar human form to strike long-silent spiritual chords in his audience.
