"The
excavation of complexity from simplicity is of
vital interest. The manipulation of space within and
around the area of the rectangular paper is the
primary site of my perceptual investigations. I use a
language of mark making which includes the stitch, the
rip, material items, and the permeation of the hand.
All of these methods straddle dimensionality. I stress
the idea of things small and fragile having a strong
and evocative presence. My works with paper pursue
notions of physicality and seek to penetrate through
subtlety."
