Radio Career:
Started as a DJ at age 12. After many years
of Dee-jaying house parties, schools, weddings, and clubs, I got a chance to come to KMEL
in 1991. I had won their annual DJ Battle Competition and was featured weekly as a guest DJ.
Eventually I would land a weekly slot on the air and over the years I have taken on more
responsibilities. I currently am the Music Director at KMEL, head of the All Star DJ's, and
producer of two specialty shows.
Favorite Music/Artists:
I love music period!!!! Music is my life, and I
love music in all type of formats. You can catch me listening to jazz and soul, R&B and
Hip-Hop, and even disco and rock. Some of my favorite artists include Gangstarr, Rakim,
Roy Ayers, and James Brown. Music is universal, so you don't get stuck listening to just one
thing!! Explore and expand your taste.
Hobbies:
I enjoy taking care of my 100 gallon
saltwater tank with numerous fish and living corals. I also still enjoy going to used
record stores and record fairs and getting dirty finding those rare and classic songs on vinyl.
Favorite Sports Team:
Die-hard Oakland Raiders fan. Have been going
to all the home games for years now and will continue to go until I die!
Favorite DJ Equipment:
Technics 1200, Vestax 07 Pro, Akai MPC 3000,
ASR-10, and thousands and thousands of records.
