[ COLUMBIA ] As his third album, I Am..., sits on top of the charts, Nasir Jones, better known as Nas to hip-hop fans, continues to make moves to establish himself as the leader of the rap game. The now 25 year old Queens, New York native started doing things at the age of 18, when he appeared on Main Source's "Live at the Barbecue." Since then, he has worked with such notable artists as Lauren Hill, Dr. Dre, and Puff Daddy on various projects. With another album slated to come out this fall, Nas is one of the leaders in the struggle for a united hip-hop community. He tries to give everyone something they can enjoy on each album, and doesn't believe in feuds between East and West Coasts or between commercial and underground rap. With the abundance of talent embedded in Nas, hip-hop fans should still have a lot to look forward to in Nas.
