The San Francisco poster archive provides a visual record of 1. some of the finest art and design in the Bay Area, 2. the evolution of the music, 3. the many significant venues and 4. the amazing array of talented dj's ( local, national, and International ) that have and continue to contribute to a vibrant and dynamic scene. It is only with the help of almost every music store, numerous promoters, artists, venues, and dj's that I have been able to assemble this remarkable collection. Starting in the fall of 1992 posters were saved for me after the events. Thank you to all in SF who have helped and continue to help make this possible. GOALS: 1. A major exhibition in a venue such as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 2. Donating the collection to an institution such as the Smithsonian or the National Archive. 3. The permanent continuation of the online website - with improvements - to be used by all as a public resource.
