Born and raised in suburban Los Angeles, Yvette first "jingled" her way into the music business for products such as Coca-Cola, Burger King and Matel Toys. Growing up in a home filled with song, Yvette was strongly influenced by her mother, an LA Studio Singer. Such inspirations led her to follow her dreams of becoming a singer/songwriter. At the age of 18, Yvette's life changed when she auditioned for Rick "Superfreak" James for the hit-making "Mary Jane Girls." Winning the part, Yvette was given the nickname "Corvette" and appeared in concert and on television throughout the United States. While with the group, they recorded one LP and garnered three top-ten singles which have since gone platinum. When the "Mary Jane Girls" disbanded, Yvette decided it was time to go solo. From background vocals for other chart topping recording artists to live-stage performances, her involvement expanded into song writing. "Being a background singer can be very limiting, but I think that by writing my own music and being able to stretch out by singing many different styles has helped me break that barrier." Yvette's talents eventually led her to become a staff songwriter for Walt Disney Music. Her expertise in the entertainment world ,as well as her love for interpersonal communications, has led Yvette to combine all of her attributes into her passion. Her current project, "In-the-Mix with Yvette," a public access television show, is her way of bringing up-to-the-minute information to the community at-large. Giving a new spin to her wide range of experience and outgoing attitude toward her work, one thing seems certain... Yvette will keep you In-the-Mix!",
